August 14, 2009 Meeting Summary

• Reported on results of L42-SJCEOC test and upcoming build schedule.
• SJCEOC has allowed us to move our current dish and future Nanostations to top roof, figuring that they are part 15 and no factor.
• SJCEOC Antennas will be installed/moved during week of August 17.
• L42 antenna mast install tentatively scheduled for Aug 21.
• Initial network is expected to be formed August 21 between XSCEOC, SJCEOC and L42.
• A network architecture design team was formed beginning with Owen DeLong, Ian Kluft, and Craig Anderson, which will develop network addressing scheme, etc. Anyone with interest in this topic is invited to join.
• Network policy on firewalls etc. are that EWN will not pretend to filter the internet, though we may require clients to. QoS will arrive someday, but is too complicated and unnecessary at this stage.
• Andrew Brown is designated as Project Director of EWN Layer 2 so he will have authority to better negotiate sites.
