Pat's discussion of the Jamesburg Dish
- A private owner acquired land in Carmel Valley which has a former AT&T 32m dish. The Jamesburg project uses the dish for Amateur Radio for "moonbounce", reflecting radio signals off the Moon to use it like a communications satellite
- The project is trying to maintain longer term solutions to keep the dish in use and available to Hams. If the owner sells the land to someone else this could all go away.
- The long-term survival of the dish is not arranged yet.
- One of the participants is the 50MHz & Up microwave experimenters group
- Lots of Hams have potential applications - AMSAT is making a satellite for Mars orbit that this dish would be perfect for.
